Polyurethane Foam Leveling

Polyurethane Foam Concrete Lifting can save your time and money compared to concrete replacement. Foam concrete lifting consists of the process of raising concrete when slabs of concrete have sunken due to shifting soil. California Building Innovations is the only company in Southern California that uses eco-friendly polyurethane foam and is made from over 40% of recycled materials. We care about our environment and using green materials that are manufactured in the U.S.A. Polyurethane foam is inexpensive, exponentially faster than replacing or repairing concrete. If you have any sunken slabs of concrete that have settled, and consequently have any windows, doors or walls connected, there may be potential structural damage which may crack and settle as well. By raising your concrete you are saving your current concrete slab from any more potential danger that may risk the safety of your home in the future.

Polyurethane concrete leveling consists of drilling a nearly invisible 5/8th inch and the process calls for considerably fewer holes than traditional mud jacking. Leveling concrete using Polyurethane foam material is injected under the slab. When the components of this material are mixed, a reaction causes the material to expand. This expanded foam fills any voids beneath the slab and raises concrete. This material will never lose density, is permanent and waterproof and only weighs around 2lbs. per cubic foot. Polyurethane foam lifting can be compared to concrete replacement or grinding and the process is substantially quicker, safer and more eco-friendly. The process of raising concrete with polyurethane foam is inexpensive (compared to other alternatives) and is exponentially faster than replacing the concrete completely.

Keep your family safe away from any trip hazards that may be potentially harming to you or your family. Keeping your property free from any trip hazards also means you will not be liable for any accidents that may have aroused from the uneven concrete.  Since your concrete slab will only worsen over time, grinding the slab will only make the concrete weaker and at a higher risk for breakage and cracking in the future. By fixing the sunken concrete sooner rather than later can eliminate the hassle and extra cost of having to replace your concrete in the future. You can have time and money by lifting your concrete slabs with Polyurethane foam lifting!

Concrete settles and sinks due to poor soil conditions, poor compaction, tree roots or poor drainage. Clay- rich soils are ‘elastic’. They expand and contract with moisture content. As soils become saturated with water, the clay expands and looses strength. This condition allows slabs to sink just like standing in wet mud. This can occur from heavy rains, melting snow or even plumbing leaks. While many homes are built on backfilled soils, if the soil is not compacted correctly, backfill will slowly and un-evenly compact. This can happen sometimes over a period of a year allowing additional slabs to settle. Trees and large shrubs can consume up to 30 gallons of water a day. If located near concrete, the loss of water in the soil will make the soil contact and can cause the slabs to settle. Improper drainage can cause soil instability by creating areas saturated soils allowing the slabs to settle. Poor drainage can be typical to the area, or as minor as a misplaced down spout. Many homeowners make the mistake of waiting until the problem worsens or spend x2 as much on replacing the concrete. Until the problem is fixed, your home remains at risk.

Essentially, we can raise any form of concrete slabs including apartment complexes, factory floors, roads/streets/highways, bridge approaches, curb & gutters as well as any and all sidewalk projects. Upon competition of leveling the concrete, the injection hole(s) are filled discretely. Most concrete jobs will take between 1 to 2 hours from start to finish. Your concrete will be ready to immediate use upon completion.

We do not use toxic chemicals. Major toxic chemicals, often associated with some type of polyurethanes, such as some blowing agents, formaldehyde, benzene and toluene are not used in California Building Innovations leveling foams. Most of what is warned against on the internet pertains to these chemicals in the product that can potentially contaminate water, plants or flowerbeds.

We care about our environment and using green materials that are manufactured in the USA. At California Building Innovations, “green” is more than just a buzz word, it’s an active approach towards creating a more positive impact on the environment and our daily lives.

Pool Deck Repaired

If your pool is where you and your family are spending your summer then you’ll want to ensure your pool deck is safe from trip hazards. If your pool deck is experiencing any damage, drainage issues, or uneven concrete we have the solutions to make your pool deck ADA compliant. California Building Innovations will fix existing flaws, and upgrade the look of your pool deck. A solution is as easy as concrete leveling with Polyurethane foam. Before assessing the initial damage, you must determine the cause of the issue to prevent any additional damage in the future.

By using Polyurethane to raise pool decks you are using material that is environmentally friendly, waterproof, with a high lifting strength and even offer quick installation times. Many concrete pool decks are prone to settling and cracking due to the pool construction process. If the soil is not well compacted and is not as dense as the undisturbed concrete you will be prone to having cracking and settling issues arise.

Pool Deck Repaired

While many companies are still opting for a large scale solution, including large heavy-machinery and equipment to demolish the concrete, CBI will not require any new concrete to be poured during the repair process. Polyurethane concrete foam leveling requires a 5/8” hole to be drilled to inject the material it will not disrupt any existing concrete, landscape, foundations or structural walls. After injection the 5/8” hole is filled and patched the area is ready for immediate use of the area.
